5 Top Priorities That Make For A Better You

Improving yourself is no easy task; it takes self-reflection, brutal honesty, and constant deliberate effort. If you’re trying to become a better you, you must first ensure your priorities are in check.

Prioritizing is the key to accomplishing your goals and, if your goals are to be a better you, there’s a few key priorities you need to make sure you not only have, but also cherish and cling to.

In this blog, let's take a look at the top five priorities you should have in place in order to be successful at improving yourself.

1) You
This may come off as a little selfish at first, but hear me out. You have to make yourself a priority. You’ll never get to the best version of yourself if you don’t take care of both your physical and mental health.

You have to ensure that you keep yourself as one of your top priorities. This means saying no to friends when you’re too tired to go out or turning down someone when you have a little too much on your plate. It’s okay to say no to someone if you can’t take on what they’re asking of you.

2) Kindness
Kindness is an important priority to maintain when trying to better yourself. Taking others’ needs and feelings into consideration can help your relationships to improve and strengthen, as well as helping you to get along better with those around you as you go through life.

Kindness can get you far in life, but it’s important to note that there’s a fine line between being kind and being a pushover. Stay aware when you’re being kind and don’t let others take advantage of you.

3) Forgiveness
People often think that forgiveness is for the recipient, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In order to be the best version of yourself, you have to forgive not only others, but yourself.

Forgiveness is freeing; holding on to transgressions can be toxic to your mental health and can delay your growth and progress. Make forgiveness a top priority and make it a point to forgive others and yourself for being human.

4) Improvement
The want to improve yourself is crucial to becoming a better you. Improvement should be held as a top priority for you. You should deliberately make the effort to see each mistake as an opportunity for advancement and improvement.

You should always prioritize the furthering and improvement of your knowledge, as well as the strengthening and improvement of your physical and mental health and relationships. Welcome the opportunity for growth and improvement and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a better you.

5) The Impact Your Actions Have
You should always have the impact of your actions in the forefront of your mind. Holding this as a top priority will force you to stop and think before you speak or act and reflect on what the potential consequences may be.

Start by thinking small: how will your words or actions affect those involved? The more you do this, the wider your scope will become, thinking of the global effects of what you do. Keeping this as a top priority will help to improve your actions and help you to become a better you.

Trying to become a better you can be a difficult task, but not impossible. You have to make the deliberate effort to work on yourself, seize opportunities for improvements, and always strive to be better than before. All of this starts by getting your top priorities in order.

I hope I’ve helped you to determine your top priorities that will help you to become a better you. :)
