Is your to-do list too full?

Ever feel as if you were running in circles, always busy but never getting anything done? Yep, that has been happening to me for the past 2 months. This past weekend I decided to take a look at my to-do list to see where I can cut back. Although, I do not want to cut back on anything, I realize it is the best thing for me to do.

Here is my list of things to choose from:
  1. Family
  2. Coaching clients
  3. IIN
  4. ME Certification
  5. NASM
  6. Business
  7. Competition
  8. Self-care
  9. Workout
  10. Nap/bed time

Everything looks good and is very important to me, but I have been losing sleep and not able to stay focused on any of them. It was time to evaluate them and help myself be more productive. Here is what I have found.

Family – Family time is the most important time to me, no room to cut back there!

Coaching clients – They count on me and I LOVE helping them. Will keep my blocked time in here.

IIN, ME, NASM – They are all equally important, I truly believe in educating yourself. I realize now that I should have completed 1 course before adding another. I have replaced my personal reading time to fit the 3 of these classes in.

Business – hmm this is where I need to grow so, I need to keep my allowed time in here.

Competition – This is a true passion for me. I enjoy this and the whole process of it. However it does not serve me at this time.

Self-care – Is so important for our overall health, however, I did scale back on things like massages, mani and pedis but kept in things like baths and leisure walking. Why? I have learned to take my walks and baths while listening to my lectures for IIN and ME. SMART right?

My workouts – Ummm I am kind of selfish here, so I am going to keep in my allowed time – but being a competitor your workout’s do increase, I can let go of the extra time I take for them.

Nap/bedtime- I have gave up “nap time” and took time from my normal 7 hrs. of sleep and it sucks for me! This is where my problem started. (Nap time is just extra relaxing time I have blocked into my day for anything that may come up unexpectedly.

So you can probably guess what had to go. Yes, sadly the competition. I am sad and fought this idea with myself for a while, but right now it makes since. The positive side of this is I can get my stuff done, stay focused and get to bed on time. BONUS : I will be switching from bikini to figure next year- so now I can start training that way and get ahead start to my goal!
